2015 Guide to Important Changes UPC & UMC

This document is an insightful guide to understanding and applying the important code changes in the 2015 Uniform Plumbing Code© and the 2015 Uniform Mechanical Code©. Each code change is broken down into an organized format that illustrates the notable code changes, explains why the changes were made, and describes how those changes will impact code users in the field. Code users will find this guide to be an essential tool in getting up-to-speed on the new code changes that will affect them the most.

In this document, users will find that each change has been broken down into three parts designed to help make each change easy to understand and incorporate into their current practices. First, the "What Changed" section provides the color coded edits illustrating the actual change in code language. The "Why It Changed" section provides the rationale as to why the change was made and how the change came about. Finally, the most significant and useful section, "What It Means to Me", describes how the various code users, such as installers and inspectors, will be impacted by each change.
