Release stop notice on public works. Just as with a Mechanics Lien, once payment of a Stop Notice or Notice to Withhold is achieved (or satisfied), the claimant has a responsibility to release. However, since the Stop Notice was not recorded by the County Recorder, one does not release the stop through the County Recorder. As indicated, the claimant must appear before a notary public, swear to what is being said, pay a fee, get the notary's signature, etc., and deliver a copy of the release to the party to whom the original stop was delivered. Note that this form is for public works, and that a separate form is required if the work against which a stop was requested is private work such as a house or office building. Note: the reverse side of this form is blank.
(Duplicate; reverse side blank).
