Installation of Underground Petroleum Storage Systems
The practices recommended in this publication are limited to installation procedures. It is not the purpose of this document to specify or recommend types of material by composition or brand name. In addition, although API has been made aware of the use of welded piping on underground petroleum storage installations, it is not the scope of this publication to cover such procedures.
It should also be clearly understood that inclusion of procedures for installation of storage systems components does not imply that such always be used. The reference to installations procedures for specific components should not be interpreted to mean the use of such components is mandatory.
For further safety information, see API Publications 1628, 2008, 2217, and Standard 2015. (See 1.4 in text for further reference information.)
